Haki Farmers Collective

Haki Farmers Collective, based just outside of Olympia, WA, is is a multi-farm network growing sustainable, regenerative food across Olympia, Yelm, and Centralia. The farmers in the collective specialize in culturally relevant foods, particularly African diaspora crops (fun fact: some of these have overlap with South Asian diaspora crops!) 

We love them for their focus on soil health and regeneration, especially through the lens of traditional and inherently sustainable farming knowledge carried in iour migrant and indigenous communities. They've been deeply & kind and generous with their time and resources at every turn - going so far as to partner with us on trialing drought resistant grains (such as millet) and produce. And inviting us to participate in their first ever Sorghum Fest in 2025. (P.S Join us in 2026 at Sorghum Fest!)

In their own words: By holding close decolonization frameworks, Haki seeks to encourage our intersecting Black, Indigenous and Immigrant peoples to reclaim life-giving knowledge of truly sustainable foodways and plant medicine creation. We believe disseminating this knowledge is an urgent mission to care for our bodies, communities & our Earth.
